A 50-minute session is $150 for individuals and $175 for couples.
I don't take insurance, but you are welcome to use a credit card from your health savings account to pay your invoice, and if your insurance will cover out-of-network psychotherapy, I can provide a "superbill" each month with invoices you can submit for reimbursement. You will need to check with your insurance to see what they cover. Let me know if you need me to provide a CPT code. I send an invoice to your email through QuickBooks after every session, which you pay online.
It depends. If you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or other issues that are impairing your daily functioning or well-being, then weekly sessions will be helpful for us to make progress toward stabilization. Then we can discuss meeting bi-weekly as we work toward your goals, until you feel we have achieved what you have come to therapy to accomplish.
Our first meeting is a get-to-know-each-other session. I will ask some questions to learn the highlights of your story, but when you first meet me is not the time to share all the details. I'm still a stranger! That's why I encourage you to ask questions and help me know what you need. We will begin to explore goals for moving forward.
We will collaborate on your goals, exploring different perspectives, finding areas of growth, and discovering strengths you may not realize you have! I will intersperse lots of listening with reflection, questions, education, and interventions when needed, giving you some practical tools for self-regulation and better interpersonal skills.
Good question! Sex therapy is like other types of therapy, but it is also a specialized type of therapy where you can safely address sexual issues and problems, either personally or in your relationship. This includes, but is not limited to, intimate partner betrayal, sexual addictions, sexual trauma and abuse, sexual pain, sex education, and healthy sexuality. I have specialized training in dealing with sexual issues, and I am sensitive to your concerns. I am currently pursuing certification as a sex therapist through the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.
While I am qualified to help Christian clients explore questions related to their faith and integrate theology and psychology, I do not do biblical counseling such as you would typically receive in a church or from a pastor. My focus is on your mental health and relationships, and I am able to offer you support in the context of a biblical worldview, if that is the approach you want. However, I work with clients from many different backgrounds.
